Today from 10:30 to 12 I’ll be checking out the March Against Monsanto event in San Jose. I think it is important to participate in events like this to help bring awareness of issues to those who haven’t the time nor awareness to know that such problems exist. If you’re interested in participating with me, send me a message! I also this it is important to experience what it is like to stand out against issues and companies if something is happening that you do not agree with no matter the issue. Your choice, or lack there of, speaks volumes to your friends, families, and neighbors. I personally do not believe that GMOs are a healthy and safe alternative to naturally grown foods. I do not believe that a company should have patents on seeds and bully farmers. I do not believe that the same company who creates these GMOs should prevent the labeling of foods and produce that ARE genetically modified. And lastly, I do not believe that this company should be writing it’s own legislation and sleeping with the government. Food is our fuel and we tend to forget just how important the things we put in our mouths are and the impact those “foods” have on our body. I think it is time to stop being okay with being fed crap and genetically engineered foods and start raising your own bar of awareness of what is to be eaten.
